↩️ CARDIO & LOW CALORIES ✖️I was constantly doing cardio like running for miles and miles to try and get a long stick thin physique which I would never achieve with my frame anyway. I’m not sure why I thought this is what I wanted as I’ve always preferred curves. . ✖️I was skinny fat:- lost lots of weight but my body clung onto fat for dear life where I was under-eating and my body would go into starvation mode. Was only eating 1200 calories a day 😱 ✖️I was unhappy with the way I looked and so miserable as this girlie LOVES HER FOOD and not eating much was torture physically and mentally. . ↪️ WEIGHT TRAINING, LISS & LOTS OF FOOOOOOOD 😋 ✔️I now do weight training 4 times a week and I do LISS (low intensity steady state) cardio at the end of my session which I actually enjoy. It’s calming and I love the endorphins. . ✔️I eat to fuel my body, 2000 calories a day!!! I’m full of energy and happy cus if I’m hungry imma have a snack 🤷🏼♀️ ✔️I no longer look at other girls pictures and wish I had their body, I’m happy with my own and know that comparing isn’t the right thing to do. Always work on improving yourself to be the best version of you and not someone else’s twin! . Weight lifting builds muscle which speeds up your metabolism and therefore burns body fat. THIS is the right way to go if you want an⏳physique. Crash diets will make you loose weight but it WILL come back, your metabolism will be slowed and you’ll end up the ‘skinny fat’ me above. Obviously some people may not think the look of a curvy woman is for them and that’s totally fine, there is no right or wrong, as long as you are happy in your own skin then you are WINNING AT LIFE ❤️
Building a booty takes a lot of extra effort, which is why it’s so inspiring to see people on Instagram who have put in the hard work and made the transformation. Kim has over 16,000 followers on Instagram, and when you take a look at her profile, you can see why so many find her fitness journey to be motivating. She’s toned her whole body from head to toe and has grown a seriously enviable booty – all the while being a mother to two beautiful children.
In one of her latest posts, Kim gets honest about the relationship between booty gains and cardio. In the picture on the left, Kim said she “was constantly doing cardio like running for miles and miles to try and get a long stick thin physique which I would never achieve with my frame anyway.” At that point in her life, she was unhappy with how she looked and “was only eating 1,200 calories a day.”
Kim has since made some pretty incredible changes in her lifestyle, all of which led her to the picture you see on the right. “I now do weight training 4 times a week and I do LISS (low-intensity steady state) cardio at the end of my session which I actually enjoy,” she wrote. “I eat to fuel my body, 2000 calories a day!!! By reducing the amount of cardio she did and replacing it with weightlifting, Kim was able to grow her muscles in a healthy way, which helped her achieve the bootylicious figure you see before your eyes.
Just as important, Kim has learned to accept her body and love it the way it is. She knows that “comparing isn’t the right thing to do,” and it’s much more worth your time to work on improving yourself rather than trying to be “someone else’s twin!”
POPSUGAR spoke to Kim about her post, which has generated over 5,000 “likes,” and she told us how important this message is to her. Kim said there are many women out there who “still believe the right way to go about losing weight is by starving themselves and going through cardio hell.” But that’s not the way to build a booty – or be happy with yourself at the end of the day.
Her best advice to anyone who is on a fitness journey? “Be highly motivated and committed but also patient, as building muscle does take time,” she told POPSUGAR. And don’t forget to eat, because your body needs fuel to grow those gorgeous glutes.
